Russell Weaver, a Fort Lauderdale native, is the second generation of this family to become a commercial Realtor at NAI Rauch, Weaver, Norfleet, Kurtz & Co. Using his expertise of South Florida’s dynamic marketplace and carefully observing the international trends that affect our area, he brings value and integrity to all of his clients.
As president of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Sisters Cities International and co-chair of Tower Club Internationals, Russell works closely together with the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce, Broward County, and the City of Fort Lauderdale to promote Broward County’s business and cultural highlights to the Miami based Consulates and binational chamber of commerce organizations. During these international monthly meetings, many new business and government relationships have been established, highlighting Fort Lauderdale and Broward County as a world class destination.
Russell has helped reinvigorated several of Fort Lauderdale’s sister city relationships and was also instrumental in establishing Fort Lauderdale’s first Asian sister city with Kaohsiung, Taiwan. In addition to the student exchanges that bring kids from all over the world, Russell helped reorganize Greater Fort Lauderdale Sister Cities board to be a more effective organization.
Growing up in South Florida, Russell attended Nova High School in Davie, Florida and graduated his senior year of high school from the Mercersburg Academy in Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. He received his B.A. in East Asian Studies from the George Washington University and spent nearly four years living in Osaka, Japan for Japanese language studies.
During the weekends, Russell enjoys sailing his Hobie Cat off of Fort Lauderdale Beach, and swimming with the Swim Fort Lauderdale Masters Team.
